Upgrades can give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using an The button will display the item level upgrade (Discover More)'s next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and current item upgrader kit level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.

For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, that will be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
