It's pricier than some of our other options however, our product tester said it was well worth the cost because it's durable and can be able to withstand the most difficult of trips.

If you're looking for a stroller that's light but can still tackle some more rugged terrain, look for three-wheelers. The Thule Shine was previously a winner in this category. It's a bit more expensive than our other choices, but it feels solid, and has a lot of features (car seat compatible! Dual cup holders! This makes it a worthy purchase. It folds down small enough to fit inside the overhead bins of airplanes making it an ideal choice for families who travel a lot.

She and our product testing team push, run the strollers, fold and lift each stroller to evaluate its performance, comfort and functionality. The BOB Sport Utility

The BOB Sport Utility is the best stroller for parents who want to go off the beaten path and get some exercise. This jogging stroller comes with pneumatic knobby wheels that are great for running trails, and the handbrake allows you to control the downhills. It also has a state-of the-art suspension system, two-step folding, and a huge cargo basket. If you purchase the right adapters you can use it with a child car seat.

The biggest issue with this stroller is its weight and dimensions when folded. It weighs 25 pounds and folds down to 17,850 cubic inches which is average for this class. The size of its footprint makes it unsuitable for tight turns and narrow trunk space. However, it does have a small handle at the back of the storage bin that can be pulled to fold the stroller into a compact flat position.

Despite its size, this stroller is easy to navigate. The front wheel features an locking mechanism that lets you change it from normal to locked running mode, and the handlebar has adjustable height settings to accommodate different heights of parents. It has a large seat that can be reclined to nearly flat, and a large window made of vinyl.

Another plus is the Sport Utility's impressive quality, which earned it a 9 of 10 in this measurement. It features a sturdy aluminum frame that has strong connections and has no rough edges or weak stitching. It also has adjustable dampers which help with the smoothness of the rolling.

Like the other BOB strollers we've reviewed the Sport Utility has optional car seat adapters that let you use it with various infant car seats. In our tests, it took around 5:24 hours to put together the stroller from unpacking it to being ready to go. It was simple enough to complete, but you'll need a Philips head screwdriver to complete the task. The manual provided is well-organized and clear however it's a good idea just to have one in the case.

The Baby Trend Expedition

Designed with style, safety features and ease of use in mind, this jogger has an adult tray with two cup holders, a covered storage and a swing-away tray for the child that includes two cup holders. The adjustable canopy that has a peek-a-boo window and the extra-wide ergonomically designed handle offer comfort for both parents. The front wheel lockable can be unlocked while strolling, and locked for running. The large storage basket can accommodate essential travel necessities.

In the Strollers test program from Consumer Reports, the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger is a good performer in general for the price and scores higher than its competition in various categories. The 5-point harness that folds, unfolds, adjusting backrest and engaging brakes on the wheel and infant car seat installation and removal (only compatible models) are all included. It's a basic design with a one-handed recline that's deep enough to allow napping. The canopy cover with ratcheting can be difficult. It also takes almost 8 minutes to set up and the instructions are confusing, with several languages and confusing illustrations.

The only negative about this stroller is that it doesn't come with suspension, which means the ride could be more bumpy than other strollers that we've tested. This could be uncomfortable for younger children, especially when their nap is about to begin. It does have air-filled tires however they don't offer the same shock absorption as the rubber wheels found on strollers that are more expensive.

This is a good option for those who don't intend to run frequently however want to move over gravel and grass easily and without issues with curbs or other obstacles. It's also a great option for families with a limited space as it folds down into an extremely compact size. It's lighter than many of the other joggers we've tried and fits in places that other strollers won't.

It's also simpler to lift and move than the bulkier joggers that we have tested. This is particularly crucial if you need to lift it into and out of the trunk of your vehicle frequently or if you're always traveling.

The Nipper Sport V4

Nipper Sport V4 is the best all terrain stroller jogger on all terrain. This new version of Out 'n' About's three-wheeled running stroller is specifically designed for jogging. It has large pneumatic alloy tyres with a 16-inch diameter capable of tackling even the most difficult tracks and paths. The Nipper is also light and compact, making it simple to fold and carry.

This pushchair has a number of features that make it ideal for all kinds of terrain, including front suspension and the handlebar brake. It also comes with a recline seat that can be adjusted in multiple positions and a removable quilted seat liner, and a padded five point safety harness and hinged bumper bar. It's also compatible with travel systems, so you can use it with a Cybex Maxi-Cosi or Be-Safe baby car seat.

Another excellent characteristic of this buggy is its huge front wheel, which helps ensure the smoothest ride for your child. This is particularly crucial when you are dealing with terrain that is difficult because it allows the buggy to track better and glide more easily over dips and bumps. Additionally it is also the case that the Nipper Sport is also very easy to drive. The handlebar features an ergonomic design and a single-pedal lock brake that can be adjusted to suit your needs. The buggy is also easy to fold, and comes with clear step-bystep instructions and illustrations in the user's manual.

The Nipper Sport is suitable for children from the age of six months, and can be used with a newborn due to its built-in infant insert. It is not recommended to use it on babies older than six months since the harness isn't tight enough to ensure their safety.

Another issue with this pushchair is the absence of a storage bin underneath the seat. It does have a small shopping pouch to the rear of the seat, but it wouldn't be big enough for an enormous changing bag. It is extremely easy to unfold and close, with just two hand-holds needed to release the plastic catches that are on either side of the lower frame. The red handlebar comes with an additional lock that can be released using just one hand.
