The system is dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what is used in self-driving cars -- and can scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping and faster response times and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with an alternating mopping mat made of chenille, making it much easier to scrub hard spots than conventional mopping. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to clean its pad and get to work, and I noticed that it was much more accurate than previous models that seemed to follow a grid path around rooms. It was capable of navigating my room's' corners and edges, as well as create a "Zambani pattern" that ran up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station frequently to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water, before starting another task of cleaning.

It takes only about a minute. You can then open the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able customize my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for mopping and sweeping and rearranging the layout of wall-mounted furniture and more. The X2 Omni impressed me in my tests. It scored highly in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and also had near-perfect results for crevices and edge cleaning.

If you're looking for a powerful combination of vacuuming and mopping, check out the ECOVACS Deebot T10 Omni. It is the most sophisticated of the T-line from the company and features the new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system, which utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than conventional scrubbing. It also has YIKO, which is a natural language processing system that is a first of its kind. This allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, establish cleaning schedules, and adjust settings.

The main flaw of the T10 Omni is that it's unable to switch between vacuuming and mopping in a single run. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach mop heads and take them off depending on your requirements. This is fine for the majority of households, but not so for people who have a busy schedule.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular shape with sweeping wheels, and an elevated sensor area. On the opposite side, you'll see a motorised floorbrush as well as one side brush that moves dust away from the edges and into the main path of its'mouth.' It's a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.

It's a bit expensive but if you're able to manage the price, it's a great purchase for those who want to be able to leave their homes hands-free to go about other tasks or to take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to take on tough dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to establish boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly choice from a well-known brand is the most affordable robot we've tested yet and offers an exceptional value for the price. The basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm and it's not equipped to map rooms. This is why it's less effective as other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and into the corners. Its mopping mode was very effective in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.

Shark's iQ may not be as robust as the Roomba S9, but it does better overall at getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It cleans floors that are bare more efficiently and does a decent job on low-pile carpet and makes use of smart-pathing navigational technology for better maneuverability. It can be sent to a specific location, and comes with a range of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you pause and resume the cleaning process and is perfect for homes with pets.
