Saab Key Programming

Saab cars made since 1994 utilize an immobilizer system based on key codes. The addition of a key requires a new transponder, as well as special programming. This is usually done by the dealer using a special Tech2 diagnostic tool.

Transponder key

Jump-starting the battery

The majority of people have a set of jumper cables in their trunks for emergency situations, but jumping a battery on modern vehicles might not be the most efficient option. These vehicles are equipped with many digital and computer systems that communicate with each other. A surge of voltage when batteries are connected to another battery could damage the components, rendering your car undriveable.

Connect the cables to the vehicle working. Let it run for two minutes. Attach the red clip to the positive terminal of the good battery (it will have "POS" or "+" on it).
