If you're on a budget and don't require a stroller that doubles into car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It comes with a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's simple to push, and it is solid when walking along woodland paths and kerbs. It's also easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the most lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, due to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold-down that fits into the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. The latest version comes with independent suspension on all four wheels that is made of Hytrel elastomer to 'perfectly navigate through all kinds of surfaces and terrain'.

The base YOYO2 frame, curved fabric bassinet and 6+ month colour pack come together to form a stylish pushchair that's easy on the eyes with a subtle yet elegant design and a tasteful branding. The base frame alone weighs less than a kilo and is so light you can easily lift it out of the box (and do so one-handed).

It's also easy to add or remove adaptors or attachments - the hood, for instance, snaps onto the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable to remove staining from rice cakes smushed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as an infant stroller. It could also be converted into a stroller at 6 months using the YOYO connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great choice for parents who are looking for a versatile stroller wagon. It transforms from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle, which means parents can pick the option they want to use on their journey. The wagon can hold one or two kids from 6 months up to 5 years, and it comes with a large storage basket that can accommodate everything you need on the go.

The Xplore also comes with two canopies that rotate from the front to the back, offering ample sun coverage for all family members. It also has a footwell that is not as deep or large as other wagons, which means it may not be suitable for long excursions or for napping.

The frame of the Xplore wagon is solid and sturdy, but it doesn't bend as much as some other wagons that we tried. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the other models and does not close tightly when folded. It is easy to move, however, and fits through doors with a width of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents seeking a second stroller that's priced reasonably. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and folded size, which means it's very lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to move into a car trunk or closet. It also has the option of reclining in multiple positions and a cup holder for the parent. Other key features include two large hanging storage bags as well as 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.

In our test of push and turn it performed better than most of the other strollers that we tried, but it's not the easiest to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only a direct overhead coverage and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have significantly larger canopy sizes.

The Delta took us just over three minutes to put together with an average manual and no components required tools. It is missing certain features we believe are essential in double strollers. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and leg rests that can be adjusted.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi’s newest pushchair that is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It is designed to accommodate infants from birth until around 3.5 years old, easily changing between a seat and a carrycot with a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a light Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and a reversible car seat.

It's a breeze to maneuver, and the one-hand recline of the seat and the super large shopping basket make it simple for parents to get their child in and out of the seat quickly. Although it is a narrow pushchair it handled the everyday bumps with ease and was able to pass through doorways without any fuss.

The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward direction and can also swivel. This is helpful when navigating rough terrain. On our walk through the stony trail, we let them swivel and it did this quite well, although it seemed slightly bumpier than other models in our test.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is known for their all-terrain, 3-wheeler jogging pushchairs, but they also offer a great selection of 4-wheel strollers. City Tour 2 is their most popular model. It is easy to fold and can fit into the boot of a car even with the carrycot attached.

It weighs more than other strollers that we tested, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber it feels solid and well-constructed. It maneuvers expertly across different kinds of terrain, and it's easy to move even with two kids and a shopping bag.

The carrycot and seat both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are showerproof and sturdy unlike other prams' hoods which get turned back into toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space but it has a large, deep basket to hold a changing bag or a large amount of groceries. You can also use it with a Baby Jogger car seat that is suitable for babies that weigh up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters are available separately). If you are looking for a stroller that can be used on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first rolled onto the scene it stole the hearts of parents across the world. It's a stroller made of aluminum that can be used from baby's first days to beyond. It is a standout model with many unique features, like the ability of the seat to be flipped between the parent and the world, a large UPF50+ canopy, an eye shade that flips out, and an adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are strong and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis is equipped with built-in suspension that takes the sting out of rough terrain. It was easy to push, and our tester was able to maneuver the car through the narrow streets.

It folds down in four easy steps, and locks automatically without hassle. It also stands and can be carried by trolley for easier transport in the boot of your car or down the stairs at home. The travel system comes available with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors included. The brakes are easy to use using a single buggy for sale action color coded and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is easy to use and comes with a great dual suspension. It folds with one hand and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It's also very light and robust. The seat can be reclined into many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress built in that is suitable for babies.

The canopy/seat has two extra-large fixed or flip-out sun visors and both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't the best because it's not as quiet as Velcro and could wake up napping babies.

The Duet is an angled stroller that can be used by twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and works with some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can face each other or turn around and face their parents, potentially cutting down on sibling fights over who should sit with mom and dad. It comes with a big gear tray, a bottle holder and snack trays. It also has an automated frame lock and a compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban glide 2 is a great jogger for parents that like to be active. It's among the lightest running strollers that you can get for your child. It comes with great safety features like a 5-point harness as well as a safety wrist strap. It comes with a different kind of hand brake that is different from other models that are an interesting twist.

The seat is well padded and provides a wide area to sit. However, the seat depth is smaller than that of other runners (it's only about 10") The storage bin has an open-top cover that can be closed to keep items safe. It can hold up to 10 pounds., which is sufficient for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters for most bassinets and car seats for infants, but you can use them starting from the first day using adapters that work with brands such as BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It's simple to fold and assemble in 5-10 minutes without any tools. The manual is easy-to-understand and is available in multiple languages.
