If you're on a budget and don't need a stroller that doubles as a car seat carrier The Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a simple one-step foot brake that's flip flop user-friendly.

It's also easy to push and feels sturdy when navigating kerbs or woodland paths. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the most lightweight buggy single for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, thanks to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold-down that fits into the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. The latest version has independent suspension on all four wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer, allowing it to 'perfectly traverse all types and terrains'.

The bent fabric bassinet, the base YOYO2 frame and 6+ months colour pack combine to create a sleek pushchair that has a soft, elegant aesthetic. The base frame alone weighs just over a kilogram and is so light that you can easily lift it from the box (and do it using one hand).

The hood, for example, snaps on the YOYO2 in a calm way. It is machine washable at 30deg which helps avoid the stains that result from smushed rice cakes and carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as prams. It can also be transformed to a stroller by 6 months using the YOYO connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is an excellent choice for parents who are looking for a versatile stroller. It can be converted from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle, meaning parents can select which mode they prefer on their adventure. The wagon can accommodate one or two kids from 6 months up to 5 years old, and it comes with a spacious storage basket that can accommodate all of your on-the-go needs.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that turn from the front to the back, offering ample sun coverage for all family members. It also has a footwell that's not as large or deep as some wagons, so it may not be ideal for longer excursions or for napping.

The frame of the Xplore feels sturdy and solid but it doesn't have the same flex as some of the other wagons we tried. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold and it isn't able to lock securely after folding. It is easy to move, however, and fits through doors that are narrower than 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents who want an affordable second stroller for their travels. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and size folded which means it's lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to move into a trunk of a car or closet. It also offers the option of reclining in multiple positions and an adult cup holder. Other features worth mentioning include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.

It performed better in our push and turn test than most of the other strollers we tested, but was still difficult to maneuver over uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades on it were among the smallest strollers we tested. They only cover the top of the stroller and do not feature peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a more extensive canopy.

The Delta took us just over 3 minutes to put together with an average manual, and none of the components required tools. However, it's missing some critical features that we believe you should consider non-negotiable in a double stroller, such as an extra-large basket, and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's newest pushchair that is advertised as an urban travel system. It can be used from birth until around 3.5-years-old. The carrycot and seat can be easily converted in only a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats, and comes with the light Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-incar base and a reversible baby carriage.

The seat reclines with one hand, and the big shopping basket makes it easy for parents to take their child in and out. Although it is narrow, the pushchair handled the bumps of everyday life well and was able to pass through doorways without a hitch.

The front wheels can be locked into forward positions or let them swivel which is helpful when traversing rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to rotate while walking along a stony path. It handled the situation well, although it seemed slightly more bumpy.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is famous for their 3-wheeler, all-terrain pushchairs for jogging, but they also have a wide range of 4-wheeler strollers. City Tour 2 is their most well-known model. It is easy to use and folds small enough to fit in a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It is heavier than the other strollers we've tried, but because it comes with rubber composite wheels it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It maneuvers expertly across different kinds of terrain, and it's also a breeze to lift even with two kids and shopping bags.

Both the seat and carrycot have hoods that can be lowered to reveal UV50and sun canopy extensions. They are sturdy and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back into toddlers' faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space, however it does come with a huge basket that's large enough to fit an infant's changing bag and plenty of food items. You can also connect it with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies as big as 20 pounds (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you are looking for a stroller that can be used on the road, the City Tour 2 is an ideal choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first came onto the scene it stole the hearts of parents everywhere. It's a stroller made of aluminum that will be with you throughout your baby's first years and beyond. It has a number of distinctive features like the ability to flip the seat between parent and the world, a large UPF 50+ canopy with a flip out eyeshade as well as a large basket and adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are strong and filled with foam, which reduces the risk of punctures. The chassis also has built-in suspension that eases the pain of rough terrain. Our tester found it to be smooth to push and was able to maneuver it through narrow streets without difficulty.

It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also stand and be trolleyed for easier transport in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. It also comes ready with the option to include a car seat or carrycot with the adaptors included. The brakes are easy to use, using a best single buggy color coded and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This single pushchair that is budget-friendly is surprisingly easy to maneuver and features an excellent dual suspension system, one-hand fold, and a handy carry strap. It is also lightweight and sturdy. The seat is reclined in many positions and is equipped with a double breathable mattress that is suitable from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two extra-large fixed or flip-out sun visors and both are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn't great it's not as quiet as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is a stroller that can be used side-by-side and can be adapted to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to 22kg maximum per seat). It's compatible with two infant car seats and even can be used with carrycots. In twin-mode, the seats can face each other or rotate around to face parents, theoretically decreasing sibling rivalries over who gets to sit with dad and mom. It comes with a huge tray for gears as well as a bottle holder and snack trays. It also has an automatic frame lock as well as a compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with infant car seats or bassinets as it comes, but you can use it from day one with the purchase of adapters to most seats from brands like BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It folds compactly and takes about 5-10 minutes to assemble with no tools. The manual is simple to understand and includes multiple languages.
